Dr. Stacey L. DeFranco, DMD
Dr. DeFranco finished his undergraduate studies at the University of Alabama in Birmingham in 1992. He then graduated from The University of Alabama School of Dentistry in 1998. He has hundreds of hours of continuing education, and he learns something new in the field of dentistry every day.
He is an active member of the American Dental Association, Alabama Dental Association, and the Birmingham District Dental Association. Dr. DeFranco is a native of Birmingham and is active in his community.
Dr. DeFranco has been practicing dentistry in Helena since 1998, and he is looking forward to continuing his practice for many years to come. He is passionate about dentistry and enjoys getting to know each and every one of his patients. It is his goal to provide the best dental care possible in a very professional and caring environment.
Dr. DeFranco lives in the Helena community with his wife, Trina, and their four wonderful children. When he is not working, he enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family.

Lisa Jackson – Front Office
Lisa joined the practice in November 2018 and brings more than 35 years of dental experience. Having started her career as a dental assistant, she has a well-rounded understanding of dental treatment and insurance. Lisa appreciates the practice's small, welcoming atmosphere and the long-standing relationships team members build with patients. Outside of work, she enjoys time with her husband, four children, and two grandchildren.
April Vice – Registered Dental Hygienist
April joined the practice in December 2003 and began her dental career as an assistant in 1987 before earning her dental hygiene license from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 1990. A Helena native, she values the lasting relationships she has developed with patients and coworkers over the years. April is dedicated to listening to patients, understanding their needs, and delivering high-quality care. She and her husband, Chad, enjoy spending time outdoors, at the lake, with family, and at church. Together, they have five grown children.
Kristinna Dennis – Dental Assistant
Kristinna has been part of the practice since 2016 and brings dental experience dating back to 1998. She loves the artistic side of dentistry and finds great fulfillment in helping patients feel confident about their smiles. Kristinna especially values the relationships she has built with patients and her close-knit team. Outside the office, she enjoys camping, spending time outdoors, and making family time a priority with her husband, two children, and three doodles.
Gene Schott – Dental Hygienist
Gene joined the practice in May 2011 and is a licensed dental hygienist with professional experience dating back to 1985. She values the practice's hometown, family-oriented feel and enjoys getting to know patients and their families. Gene is passionate about helping patients understand and care for their dental health through attentive treatment and education.
Joni Griffin – Registered Dental Hygienist
Joni joined the practice in June 2026. She earned an Associate of Science in Dental Hygiene from Wallace State Community College in 2011 and also completed an assisting certificate through the UAB School of Dentistry. Joni enjoys the practice's small, personal setting and its commitment to conservative dentistry. She is passionate about helping patients understand the connection between oral health and overall health, with a particular focus on periodontal health. Joni and her husband, Chris, have four children. She enjoys graphic design, serving in her church's women's society, and traveling when she can.
Paula Bratina – Front Desk
Paula joined the practice in March 2023 and has worked in dentistry for more than 30 years. She loves being part of a team that genuinely cares for its patients and takes pride in helping create a welcoming office where meaningful patient relationships can grow. When she is away from the office, Paula enjoys spending time with her husband, playing pickleball and disc golf, going to the gym, cheering on her grandchildren at their activities, traveling, and hosting family and friends at home.
